CBD Dumpling House - Canberra's Best Chinese Restaurant

CBD dumpling house has to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Canberra. 5 stars / 5 for good value for money, 4.5 stars for the great taste, 4 stars for the service, 4.5 stars for speed of food serving. The place has fancy dining settings and brightly lit being a corner shop with floor to ceiling glass windows. CBD dumpling house is always packed during peak lunch hours. But luckily pre-booking isn't necessary to dine here. The restaurant has huge floor space, there seems to abundant seats for huge crowd. I don't find myself standing in the queue for long when I eat there, not even on for Sunday lunches.

I tried different dishes everytime I was there. So far no bad choices made. They all tasted great, just the right amount of salt and seasoning. I am so glad they didn't go overboard with the salt like many other Asian restaurants in town. Some of the places I have dined at are ridiculously salty and sweet, for example, Woden Chongco Thai Restaurant.

These are my favourite dishes: Shanghai Pork Dumpling, Handmade Shanghai Stir Fry Noodles, Sweet and Sour Pork and King Prawn with Vermicelli Hot Pot.

King Prawn with Vermicelli tasted very nice and it's great value for money. I found 16 large prawns in the pot filled with large amount of Vermicelli.

Sweet and Sour pork was a bit weak. I am saying it is weak is actually referring to the chef's skill, the flour coating is too thick, it feels like eating a large chunk of flour. The sauce did taste good.

Handmade Shanghai Noodles is another great choice. Many people ordered this dish.
